What I Love Most about Albuquerque
"For most of my life, I've been a regular citizen and an artist in Albuquerque. I can safely say that humans are our greatest natural resource; that it's really about the people.
Many will point to the food, the weather, the immeasurable immensity of the sky and our proximity to extreme sports and nature.
Yes, all of those things are big draws, but what keeps people coming here as opposed to just visiting for a weekend are the interactions you have with the people, like when you're at an event meeting a family that you might not have known an hour ago and now you're going to be at their daughter's wedding.
I think the real magic - when I was hooked on Albuquerque - is when I went from outsider to insider, and that moment happens quickly here. The locals really adopt you and they're like, 'Yeah, come here. You're one of us now.'
When that moment happens, you're all proud. You think, 'I forgot where I was from before Albuquerque.'"
